Holiday Happenings

So, Thanksgiving is almost here and our schedules are about to get crazy. We have a few events coming up that we would like to share with you.

First, Every Little Counts will be co- hosting a holiday shopping party with Stylesmith, benefiting "Food on Foot", a non-profit organization which helps the homeless population in Hollywood. All of you local Southern CA girls (and guys) should definitely come...gift bags for everyone (with lots of fun stuff from indie designers around the world), free makeovers from one of our favorite makeup artists, sweets, champagne, and more!

And then... Yes, we will be at the 1st ever Bust Holiday Craftacular in LA. We are super excited, not only because it is the holidays, but because we LOVE BUST (always have...good reads for smart girls!). Come visit us Dec. 6th at the Echoplex.

Loving: Mer

Mer is French for ocean, and appropriately named for this dreamy whimsical line by designer, Angie Wright. The collection launched for spring of 2008, inspired by the beaches of the Mediterranean and her native New England. I love the easy and efforless shapes combined with retro- inspired fabrics.

In the Studio: A Violent Sensual Sensitive Girl

Just a few pics from the studio yesterday.
I really loved the mix of the black and gold ink. One of my favorite things about printing is the experimenting with placement and color.

Love and Nostalgia

I found these two photos of my parents on my last trip home. Even though I wasn't born yet, just looking at them makes me feel all warm and nostalgic. It also reminds me to start taking more picture in my own life.

Oh, autumn!

I just found this picture of me back when I was a kid. My brother and I used to love jumping into the big piles of leaves in the yard.
See how autumn inspired Every Little Counts here

The Libertine

Last night I watched The Libertine starring Catherine Spaak and Jean- Louis Trintignant, 1969.
The Libertine is considered a classic of late-1960s Euro sex comedies. Since Every Little Counts is all about love, sex, and the 60's, I decided to give it a go.
Catherine Spaak plays Mimi, a widow who discovers her late husband's secret sex lair. After her husband's sexual perversions are unveiled, Mimi decides to embark on her own sexual journey.
The film is worth watching for the costumes and the sets alone, as well as the presence of Jean- Louis Trintignant, who I must admit- I find a little bit sexy (although much more so in A Man and a Woman).
(Forgive the low quality images.. I took them myself. It was getting pretty difficult to find images from the film online, and the costumes absolutely needed to be documented!)

I heart River Phoenix

I was 15 when River Phoenix died.
My heart was broken.
Now, he too can be found on a t-shirt- on the streets of Melbourne...

Dogfight
The Thing Called Love

Loving Lover!

Just when I was starting feeling fall, Lover made me yearn for spring/ summer. I am seriously lusting after the all white, short short outfit.
